She offers these classes in her home studio outside of Gainesville, and you can view her full class schedule here.

Or if you already know the basics and are ready to put them to use, you can also contact Natalie at Chickadee Shops to see what exciting project-based classes she has on the schedule.

After this class, we won’t be offering classes again until 2013, since Kim will be out on maternity leave. Feel free to add your name to our mailing list if you’d like to receive updates on future classes as they become available.

I will still offer group sewing classes here in Gainesville and will post details here as new classes become available. Currently, I have two upcoming classes that I’ll be teaching at Chickadee Shops, a locally owned fabric store that opened last year here in Gainesville.

There are two spots still available in the “Get Started with Sewing!” class and three spots in the “Learn to Work with Patterns” class, both of which will take place on Saturday, June 9 at Chickadee Shops in the Oaks Mall Plaza. We’ve posted our class schedule for January, February and March over on the Classes page. You’ll see a few familiar classes, as well as a few brand new ones, including “Learn to Knit!” If you’ve been itching to knit, this is your chance. Sharon Emery will be the instructor for the class. She’s one of the owners and instructor from Hanks, the yarn store that used to be in Millhopper Plaza. We’re really excited to have her teaching at Sew Make Do! If you want to check out all of the classes, here’s the link.

Gainesville is a town that’s rich in the arts, but it has lacked a place where people could gather, take classes, and explore their creative sides. Sew Make Do is just that place. We’ll be blending old traditions with new approaches, to create fresh new classes for everyone from kids to grown-ups.
