Sew Make Do is closing

Sew Make Do is officially closing. After eight great months, I’m closing the doors at my cute little studio on NW 23rd Avenue to make way in my life for other exciting changes — namely, the birth of my first child.

Thanks so much to everyone who supported my dream to make Sew Make Do a reality — students, friends, and sewing enthusiasts in the community. I couldn’t have done it without you!

I will still offer group sewing classes here in Gainesville and will post details here as new classes become available. Currently, I have two upcoming classes that I’ll be teaching at Chickadee Shops, a locally owned fabric store that opened last year here in Gainesville.

There are two spots still available in the “Get Started with Sewing!” class and three spots in the “Learn to Work with Patterns” class, both of which will take place on Saturday, June 9 at Chickadee Shops in the Oaks Mall Plaza. You can register via the links in this paragraph if you’re interested in joining me.

Thanks again for your support of Sew Make Do!

Hugs and stitches,
Kim Kruse

Wow, Kim! Congrats on your soon-to-arrive new baby! And congrats, too, for following your creative dreams! The studio will always be there in the future. I so remember those tugs between my artistic and professional interests and wanting to be a great mom! My boys are now 15 and almost 20 . . . and I do have more time to do my own thing now. Finally! But smart women try to do it all – and I’m sure you’re discovering that, fondly, Debra
