We’ve posted our class schedule for January, February and March over on the Classes page. You’ll see a few familiar classes, as well as a few brand new ones, including “Learn to Knit!” If you’ve been itching to knit, this is your chance. Sharon Emery will be the instructor for the class. She’s one of the owners and instructor from Hanks, the yarn store that used to be in Millhopper Plaza. We’re really excited to have her teaching at Sew Make Do! If you want to check out all of the classes, here’s the link.
We’re constantly trying to add new classes to the schedule. If there are particular classes that you’d like to see, let us know! You can either leave a comment here or shoot us an email at sewmakedo{at}gmail.com. Thanks y’all!

I would be overjoyed to see a ‘serger basics’ class someday– I have one, but I’m a bit scared of it. I would love to have someone show me, in person, what all it can do!
I’m pretty comfortable with my sewing machine, but I would be very interested in anything you ever offer on fitting patterns or making alterations.
Thank you very much, and best of luck to Sew Make Do!

Rachel W. — Thanks for the suggestions! Sergers are infinitely useful but notoriously intimidating, so we definitely want to offer a serger basics class down the road. And yes, a pattern fitting class is definitely on the horizon. We’ll keep you posted, and thanks for the well wishes!
I would be very interested in a serger class. I recently purchased one and had a crazy thought that I could learn it on my own. Are you planning any in the future? Thanks!
Brenda — We no longer operate in our own brick-and-mortar location, so we’ve had to adjust our class lineup, which means we won’t be offering any serger classes. If you bought your serger from a dealer, I’d suggest checking with them to see if they can show you the basics of getting started. There are also some good books on Amazon and videos on YouTube. Good luck!
